So that’s me , I am very easy going, love the outdoors lifestyle, like a good laugh but I do take my profession seriously and I am pretty lucky to actually love and enjoy my full time job and the service I provide and how I work on your wedding day using my experience to give couples the best experience is unique and second to none which I think shows in my work and my reviews from previous couples.
Thanks
Iain
Ok buckle up here's the bit about me...
I am Iain ... based just outside Glasgow on the Clyde coast I, In my early career I mainly photographed Triathlon/ Multi and Adventure Sports, on the stages of the Common Wealth Games to various Triathlon World and European championships in Europe all for a varied number of lifestyle, sports magazines sponsors and commercial clients and its given me some amazing adventures over the years and i've met some incredibly inspirational people. For quite a number of years I did the photography for the governing body of Triathlon in Scotland and for a time British Triathlon. Chasing athletes up and down mountains, in and out of water, above and below and I manage a number of magazine covers which I am quite proud of and commissions from commercial Sports Agencies and Brands like Specialized Bikes, Saucony and Lucazade Sports to name a few.
I photographed my very first paid wedding in 1995 and since then my photography has always been more documentary with some creative couples photography too. I was doing this in my sports photography so I took that style of "capturing the moment" into my wedding photography right from the start, so even then I preferred the more candid natural style of photography. I did managed to balance sports & wedding photography side by side on a semi professional basis but as my weddings really started to take off I phased out the sports , left my full time job at IBM in July of 2010 and now just concentrate on photographing weddings full time or as we used to say "I turned Pro"
I've never submitted to awards or anything or done a wedding exhibition, I know its weird, pretty much all my wedding bookings comes from word of mouth from previous couples....go figure social media. I photograph for my couples and clients and myself when I am out and about, not for my ego or my Instagram grid. I've alway enjoyed the process and the journey to capture a photo and the creative process afterwards, I always have wether its film or digital, be it weddings or on a mountain side watching a sunset go down.
I come from a sports background from playing rugby , powerlifting then slimming all the way down again to race triathlons and cycle time trialling. My personal time now , I like to spend it on a mountain trail somewhere doing long thru hikes or a Munro with my drone. I've been flying drones since the early days of the DJI drones and always have a drone in my backpack. I find hiking is a great way to recharge the batteries, listen to audiobooks and switch off from social media and the noise of the day to day. Plus it keeps you pretty fit and gives me an excuse to buy lots of gear!
